LABBX in association with TannLyne Productions is searching for the best self-published books of the past few years. Whether you're a professional writer, part-time freelancer, or a self-starting student, here's your chance to enter the only competition exclusively for LABBX attendees.
To enter: $40 for the first entry; $25 for additional entries. There will be one grand prize, with prizes for the two runners up and two honorable mentions. Winners will be presented at the Los Angeles Black Book Expo and will have the opportunity to be interviewed for LABBX related media.

Spelling Bee
Join us for the fun and excitement of the first annual Los Angeles Black Book Expo’s Spelling Bee! This free event, hosted by our partner Smiley’s Books in Carson will feature contestants completing for prizes. Smiley’s Books is also the home of Juice-C-Juice, chosen by MyFoxLA.com as the Best Juice Bar in the city of 2009, with its award winning fruit smoothies. The spelling bee starts on Saturday, June 5th at 2:00 PM. More information will be posted on the LABBX blog.

The Los Angeles Black Book Expo is giving YOU the opportunity to showcase your talents! If your passion is writing and poetry, then this contest is for you!
Contest Detail
- The Poem must be about Feeling Fabulous (inner beauty, overcoming a difficult situation, high(or) low self-esteem, etc.)
- The poem must end with the wordsFeeling Fabulous (last 2 words)
- FEMALE Only
- Must be between the ages of 10 - 25
- If you're not a member, you must become a Feeling Fabulous Member before submitting your poem. www.imfeelingfab.org
Feeling Fabulous is honored to be a part of this year's Los Angeles Black Book Expo, which will be held on August 21, 2010 at the Sheraton Gateway LAX Hotel! There are a select group of influential spoken word poets nationwide coming out to showcase their talent. The Expo would also like to display the hidden talent that lives within our community.
